A particularly rarefied Special Edition Ariana & Evans #soap called The Loft (not yet available) along with the Vanille de Tabac #aftershave.
As mentioned, this is a "particularly rarefied" soap in that it's both a rather small batch and available only at the upcoming launch event on August 25, 2018 - hosted in a New York City loft (thus the name) for new Ariana & Evans products. This and a couple more upcoming shaving reviews will all feature the same hardware because I'm currently in vacation mode.
For a background on Ariana & Evans check out the appropriately named article; What is Ariana & Evans? Check out my earlier reviews of L'Orange Verte, Asian Plum, Khalifa, NYC and Vanille de Tabac for much more info. Again, the artwork, branding and packaging are excellent - though this soap has a less robust label than usual (more like the older ones) due to the limited release nature.
The Loft scent is amazing. It features fairly simple notes of tobacco absolute, bourbon and sandalwood. After polling six people, male and female - it was unanimous... Everybody loved it. It's tobacco forward, but the woodsy sandalwood takes it in the right direction, taking the edge off while the bourbon sweetens up the scent a bit. The three notes might sound fairly contrived, and it smells like you might imagine; but smelling it in person really brings it home. You're going to want a tub of this, trust me... . If you can get one, that is. Scent strength is wonderfully robust. Performance is equally excellent.
The hardware consisted of a #StandardRazor with a fresh #PolSilver blade and a great #Yaqi brush sporting a silvertip badger knot. This is my basic travel set as it's light and compact yet compromises nothing.
Another pleasant shave with #arianaevans soap, bolstered by a different, but equally sweet aftershave. Both performing very well. The former appears to be a fairly simple scent on the surface but man does it smell good.
