An absolutely bombastic shave today thanks to Chatillon Lux and The Sudsy Soapery in Delor de Treget #soap and #aftershave form.

The original scent from Chatillon Lux was inspired by Carondelet's original resident and founder, Clement Delor de Treget. As a French Spaniard who was the highest authority in a lowly trading town, Delor de Treget represents the humble magnificence of Saint Louis. This scent is more rugged than masculine, suitable for anyone preparing for a long day collecting pelts, pushing pencils, or anything in between.

I know I've shaved with this soap and matching aftershave combo before, but I must not have posted it... I'll circle back at some point and do so. But for today, here we go!

A collaboration between #ChatillonLux and #TheSudsySoapery begat this soap to go with the (original) aftershave provisions in the Delor de Treget scent - which was made exclusively for the St. Louis meetup. Besides what was available there, only 40 additional tubs exist (and they're long gone). A matching set is unobtainium right now (the soap really - but see below).

It features notes of bergamot and cedarwood, rounded out by orange and lavender with a base of labdanum. A nice, citrusy scent (more so the soap) - but the soap is on the lighter side of medium on scent strength - while the aftershave is on the higher side. Longevity is a bit short with the latter.

There will be another run of it [soap] available in the next few months.

For more info on the soap, check out my prior review of Delor de Treget soap or the review of The Sudsy Soapery White Sage & Lime soap - as well as a more recent follow-up review of The Sudsy Soapery. The aftershave toner by Chatillon Lux is also well-reviewed here quite regularly. Needless to say, the former is underrated and well worth a try; the latter a known quantity and excellent across the board. Go by scent, buy what you need and enjoy.

Hardware consisted of the #TimelessRazor "aggressive edition" for this Monday morning whack-a-whisker with a RazoRock Halo handle in titanium and a fresh #PolSilver blade. The brush was the one, the only #SOC and the #GTP scuttle did its thing, as usual. Absolutely smooth, BBS shave this morning. Not a whisker was left standing.

Today all the pieces came together for an outstanding shave - the software and hardware performed in perfect unison. I was especially impressed with the face feel; besides a BBS shave, my skin was supremely moisturized and supple feeling.
