Paradise Frost, is a summer blend of bright pink grapefruit and earthy oakmoss with just a kiss of menthol. Like a grapefruit spritzer on a summer day. This scent is meant to be mildly cooling, but won’t freeze your face.
Paradise Frost is a returning favorite, this time in the updated packaging and base formulations. To be honest, the scent itself isn't much to talk about as far as complexity; it has notes of pink grapefruit and oakmoss. That said, it smells terrific. It's a fantastic grapefruit scent and easily my favorite out there. Being citrus-based, and as they all do because of the volatility - it fades fairly quickly on the skin. Underneath however, is an equally terrific oakmoss that hangs around a while. It's a perfect warm weather scent, where you don't want anything heavy anyway, and you can layer your own scent on top of it. The icing on the cake is the light touch of menthol; just enough to cool you down a bit (and far from being any sort of face freezer). Scent strength is on the lighter side of medium with a longevity of 2-3 hours.
I wouldn't put this one in the category of "citrus bombs" like Dr. Jon's Hydra, Through the Fire Fine Craft Sucker Punch or Wet Shaving Products Citrus Blast as it's a singular citrus note, really. It's also less in-your-face as all three, being a bit lighter in scent strength. It's just an honestly good grapefruit and more along the lines of Chiseled Face Santa Paula Citrus in that sense (which is orange) and about the same strength.
Performance of both the soap and aftershave is very nice, and at the price - represents outstanding value. The soap produces copious amounts of semi-billowy lather that's got great cushion, glide and residual slickness. Always a pleasure to shave with #mickeyleesoaps as it's super easy to lather and gives superb results. The aftershave is also a fine performer, being light on the face, refreshing and leaves a nice face feel.
Hardware today consisted of the #TimelessRazor in the "mild edition" with a #Stork handle and a #Feather blade on shave four. The #BSB Shaving Brush made quick and easy work of lathering this soap in the #GTP scuttle.
Not a complex scent, but a great overall vibe. This is a killer warm weather combo. Easy, light, whimsical. Performance is excellent, as you've come to expect... And I expect to reach for this combo quite often over the summer!
