Shaving Product Review - Cold River Soap Works "Fall LE" and
Barrister's Reserve "Spice"

As temps have dropped dramatically over the last couple of weeks, there's no doubt that autumn is here - and what better way to celebrate than Cold River Soap Works Fall LE #soap and Barrister's Reserve Spice #aftershave?

As luck would have it, I've extensively reviewed CRSW Fall LE soap as well as Barrister's Reserve by #BarristerMann in this first impression and Spice in particular! So I won't repeat it here. Basically, the #coldriversoap offering has notes of citrus and apple blending with a middle of warm spices including ginger and cinnamon, sitting on a earthy base of musk, patchouli, vanilla, cedar, sandalwood, and noble fir. and all the performance you could want. Granted, the newer Select v2 and Oliva formulations offer more glide and skin conditioning, but the changes are subtle and this original formula still rocks it! As for the Barrister's Reserve Spice it offers top notes of nutmeg, lemon, orange, star anise and aldehydes, floral middle notes of carnation, jasmine, geranium, cinnamon, heliotrope and pimento and base notes of ambergris, benzoin, cedar, vanilla, tonka bean, and musk! Performance here too in unequaled.

What I can add is a bit about the packaging of the Barrister's Reserve now that I've got the full production run versions. There's no packaging, save for bubble wrap around the bottle(s) and a fair bit of kraft paper to cushion inside the box. It's packaged and shipped by a third-party fulfillment center and not Will himself. The bottles are square and larger than you might expect; though they still hold the usual 100ml of fluid - and they are full to the top! There's a restrictor under the cap which metes out just the right amount per shake. Finally, custom labels appear wrapped around the bottle, on top of that label and finally, on top of the cap. Each "flavor" has unique labels for all three.

Hardware today was by way of my favorite "Monday morning razor..." The #Mühle #R41 razor, with a #PolSilver blade on shave three. Super easy, close BBS shave. Nothing takes down a weekend's worth of growth like this bad boy. The #BSB Shaving Brush whipped up the goodness in the #GTP scuttle, which also kept the suds nice and warm on a chilly morning.

A great shave today, with all the spicy scents of fall - and then some! Can't go wrong with any of these products.
