Shaving Product Review - Barrister and Mann "Solarion" and
Chiseled Face "Easy St."
Today's SOTD is brought to you by Barrister and Mann Solarion #soap and Chiseled Face Easy St. #aftershave - two peas in a pod!
#Barristermann Solarion is described as notes of bergamot, petitgrain, geranium, carnation, saffron, and black pepper. True to its billing, it was a subtle, citrusy/floral scent. But not as bright as you might expect; the saffron, which is herbaceous, woodsy and warm... Along with the black pepper and slightly bitter note of the bergamot tone it down. It's more of a cheery "barbershop" scent. I'd say it's probably underrated... As it would make a great way to get the performance that B&M is known for - without committing to the heavier, more polarizing scents (such as Leviathan, Lavanille, Hallows, etc.). Needless to say, the soap performs exceptionally well and produces ample, cushiony and creamy lather with excellent face feel characteristics.
The #chiseledface Easy St. aftershave turned out to be a perfect complement to the soap as it has notes of green tea, citrus, bergamot, rose, nutmeg, and ginger with hints of musk and woods! It went on much brighter and citrusy, but quickly muted a bit on the dry down. As with other Chiseled Face aftershaves, the excellent ingredients, combined with a touch of menthol - made for a great face feel. The lingering scent is subtle and nice.
Hardware today included the #Mühle #R41 razor (which I haven't used in a dog's age) with a fresh #PolSilver blade while the #BSB Shaving Brush amped up the suds in the #GTP scuttle.
Two different products from two different artisans - yet go perfectly together! The shave and post-shave was excellent all around. Since B&M doesn't have a matching splash for Solarion - Easy St. would be a natural, or you could get the matching Chiseled Face soap. They all stand well on their own as well. Solid stuff.
