Tabac

Shaving Product Review - Tabac "Original"

Today's SOTD features none other than Tabac Original #soap, #balm, #deo and #EdC - a great fall (or anytime, really) scent with performance to match.

I've given a full review of Tabac Original before, so I won't get into it today. #Tabac is just one of those legends of wet shaving that requires no introduction, and should be in every den. Okay, so the scent isn't for everyone... But the performance is up there. The soap lathers almost by itself, and indeed - with 30s of loading today I ended up with a scuttle full. You could practically whip it up with dirt and still get lather. Creamy, cushiony, slippery lather with decent secondary lubricity today, followed up by the colder weather performance of the balm. To cap it off, I judiciously applied doused myself with cologne...

Hardware for today included the #Merkur #Futur razor fitted with a #Gillette 7 O'clock (black) blade on three and dialed up to "2" for a little more bite. The PolSilver blades are definitely smoother over these. While it was a lovely shave, I was left just a bit razor burned and why I chose the balm over the aftershave - which it promptly dispatched. Oh well, it was worth a shot - back to PolSilver! The #Dovo silvertip badger brush fit right in the tin and made easy loading of the soap, afterwards whipping it up in the #GTP scuttle.

A nice shave; a little irritated but still standing. Great scent (I'm a Tabac fan) and performance!
