Shaving Product Review - Barrister and Mann "Vetyver Santal" and
I've done a similar shave to this one before and even reviewed Vetyver Santal in detail... Not much to add except to reiterate that I'm sad it's gone. One can hope that it will come back, at least as a throwback some day, but according to Will of #BarristerMann, vetiver products are just not big movers for them. While the latter is possible, the former is quite unlikely. Which, if you ask me, is a real shame. I'm a huge fan of vetiver, including the #guerlain Vetiver line up; I have the aftershave, EdT and deo... All of which I used for this shave. From soup to nuts, it was all vetiver, baby! Hmm, that didn't sound right.
Hardware for today included the #StandardRazors razor fitted with a #PolSilver blade while the #BSB Shaving Brush made quick work of lathering up the fine, fine B&M suds in the #GTP scuttle - which kept things nice and warm for the shave.
Hopefully we'll see Vetyver Santal come back some day, even if just a limited batch. It didn't sell all that well when it was a regular offering, but judging by the people looking for it once it was discontinued, there's definitely a market. Granted, some of those were "treasure hunters" looking to complete their private collection, but still... Vetiver is a great scent, if a bit common. At any rate, I picked up my tub (one of, if not the last) at Pasteur Pharmacy in NYC as soon as I heard the news. I use it somewhat sparingly as it's now considered low grade unobtainium (as opposed to say, Vanille or Passiflora). You should be able to find some (hopefully at not too much of a premium) as a result, used.
