Shaving Product Review - Barrister and Mann "Night Music"
Today's SOTD features the one, the only... Barrister and Mann Night Music #soap and #aftershave combo! A scent that created waves - good and bad.
I actually reviewed Night Music fairly extensively already, so I won't repeat that again here. There are a scant few SOTD posts with this stuff, which boggles my mind... I know I've used it a lot (though I can remember not writing anything up on at least a few occasions). There was also some shaving drama associated with this scent as foreshadowed above, if you can believe that (LOL). Long and short of it, it's a heavy vanilla and musk accord softened with hints of floral and fruit. It's an exquisite scent, and for the real fans - there will be an EdT available for $45 if you get in on the pre-order which opened January 10th... It will begin shipping the week of February 6th. If you want in, do NOT delay!
Needless to say, the soap is typical glissant - thick, creamy lather with plenty of cushion and slippery glide. The Tonique aftershave works wonderfully and the scent has excellent sillage and longevity. All around, just good stuff. It's one of my favorite scents from #BarristerMann and so much so, that I've picked up an extra set of soap/aftershave as well as the new EdT! Considering some of the brouhaha resulting from the previous release a year ago, I want to make sure I have some to take to the grave...
Hardware for today included, what else, the #StandardRazors razor with a #PolSilver blade on shave five. I think I'm going to switch back to the Mühle R89 for a while. I love the Standard Razors but variety is the spice of life, no? The #BSB Shaving Brush had its way with the sublime, coffee mousse colored lather in the #GTP scuttle.
This scent is awesome, in my opinion... But it's clearly not for everyone. No matter - more for me! Seriously, if you get a chance to try it, then I'd encourage you to do so... Especially the vanilla and musk lovers out there. This is a deep, rich scent along the lines of Lavanille or Vanille (with more complexity). If you decide you don't like it, you'll have no problem moving it on in one of the buy and sell forums out there.
