Barrister and Mann

Today's SOTD is courtesy of Barrister and Mann Lavanille - a righteous pairing of #soap and #aftershave with a unique scent.

Barrister & Mann Lavanille - products I've reviewed and raved about before (http://tinyurl.com/ok2a5ft). I needed to get my fix of that scent, so I used it again today. I won't get into the particulars again here... But to sum up, copious, plush lather with excellent slickness and post-shave face feel properties, and the aftershave keeps the gravy train rolling.

Indeed, today's shave was smooth as butter, both during and after - my face feels soft, supple and moisturized. Dat scent doe! :O

I've added a second photo, to illustrate what I mean by giving soaps a chance. What you're seeing here is the vanillin in the fragrance reacting with atmospheric oxygen, which is what gives the soap its distinctive top-layer color. If you were to cut it open and leave it out for a day or so, all exposed surfaces would do the same thing. Some soaps exhibit this more than others, and some might stratify components like essential oils (changing the scent and/or strength slightly). The take away is to give soaps a proper chance and you might just be surprised.

Hardware today was the #Mühle #R89 head fitted with a #PolSilver blade on shave three while the #SOC brush did the fandango in the #GTP scuttle.

Another excellent #BarristerMann shave - quality lather, aftershave and scent! I'm definitely a fan of Lavanille and look forward to our next dance.
