Musgo Real

Shaving Product Review - Musgo Real "Oak Moss" & "Classic"

Another great SOTD courtesy of Musgo Real Oak Moss #cream and Classic #aftershave!

My regular readers will know that I'm a huge fan of Musgo Real products. I've reviewed the shaving cream extensively before (http://tinyurl.com/nnxsk8b and http://tinyurl.com/nzlctke) as part of my #CreamWeek series - so I won't get into it again, as the performance of this flavor is the same... Top notch - dense and creamy lather with excellent cushion and glide that thanks to lanolin, also has excellent face feel properties. The aftershave, much like the balm, is also exemplary when it comes to face feel.

Let's talk about the scent. Introduced in 2012, Oak Moss (along with four others) rounded out the Classic scented product line with both shaving creams and aftershaves (no balms). Unlike the Orange Amber and especially Classic scents, the Oak Moss is fairly light in strength. It's very nice, however - mellow and unobtrusive. Quite pleasant, really. If you plan to follow up with a different aftershave or cologne, this may be your best choice to avoid any scent conflicts.

Hardware today consisted of the #Mühle #R89 razor fitted with a #Feather blade on shave five, the #BSB Shaving Brush and the #GTP scuttle to keep the sweet lather nice and warm for the duration.

Absolute BBS shave today and my skin feels amazingly hydrated and soft. A real treat for the cooler months where skin can end up fairly dry, but you don't necessarily want to use a balm. I finished off with Geir Ness cologne for a floral, woodsy profile... Seemed apropos.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - if you're a fan of shaving creams, definitely give Musgo Real a try as you'll be rewarded with great shaves. In fact, any of the Portuguese shaving products are truly excellent - but Musgo Real is the most readily available.
