Shaving Product Review - Dr. Jon's Shaving Soap Co. "Anne Bonny"

Mike, Mike, Mike! That's right, you barnacled bilge wenches - it's a #HumpBay SOTD! Courtesy of Dr. Jon's Shaving Soap Co. Anne Bonny and another shave with the Standard Razors hardware!

I've reviewed #DrJonsSoapCo Anne Bonny pair before (see http://tinyurl.com/qjx9wb8 and http://tinyurl.com/pwughcd) but to recap, the performance is typical - excellent - and the scent is a unique bay rum... It features black tea, dark rum and lime, which sets it apart. The black tea is what really stands out for me. Really nice. An understated bay rum.

I wanted to take a little more time instead talking about the #StandardRazors razor that I first shaved with and reviewed yesterday.

The efficiency of the razor was exactly what I was hoping for - something in between the Mühle R89 and shimmed Feather AS-D2. As I mentioned yesterday, the shave was definitely closer than those two... The longevity of the shave/face feel was also markedly longer. I'm quite excited about this... And I suspect that Standard Razors may just become... My standard razor. ;)

Again, finding the angle was a piece of cake. The audible feedback is great as I can target areas that require more attention. Today I noticed the light weight of the razor more than yesterday; not that that's a bad thing. Just something I need to get used to as all my other razors are downright heavy (as I use an iKon Bulldog handle at the very least; no stockers - and the Merkur Futur, well...).

The other hardware today was the #Dovo silvertip badger brush and #GTP scuttle (as always, LOL). The blade is the same #PolSilver from yesterday, on shave two.

Another really nice shave today. Hardware and software just singin'.
